Irena Kovaleva BA(Hons) BSc(Hons) MCOptom Prof Cert Glaucoma
Optometrist
Originally from Russia, Irena came to Wales in 2001. Irena trained at Cardiff University before graduating in 2009 and set up Crickhowell Optometrists a year later. Irena provides specialist care for over 4,000 patients and following her qualification, taught 3rd year Optometry students at Cardiff University. Irena has over 15 years’ experience in optometry and has recently gained post graduate qualifications in glaucoma and medical retina. Irena is trained to carry out WGOS Examinations for Urgent Eye Problems and is WGOS Low Vision Assessment accredited.
Irena is supported by a team of optical assistants who are trained to enhance your experience, from choosing eyewear to suit your face shape to using your first pair of contact lenses.
Tracey Bowen
Tracey has been with us for 4 years. Having previously worked within the domiciliary sector, she brought with her a wealth of experience of NHS policies and protocol, and is a hugely valuable asset to the team. She is passionate about providing a caring service to all our patients.
Kelly Bromwell
Kelly joined the team at Crickhowell Optometrists 4 years ago. She lives on a working farm in the centre of Crickhowell and is our resident link to the farming community! Kelly’s familiarity with our local community and excellent customer service skills make her a key part of our team.
Georgina Park
Georgie has been with Crickhowell Optometrists for 3 years. Living and working locally, she is a familiar face around Crickhowell. With a background in Psychology and HR, Georgie is dedicated to providing excellent patient care and providing a comprehensive optical experience for the local community.
